2016

2016
This year was an awesome growing experience for us as an Island Breeze team. Not only did we grow to our largest staff number yet with 15 full time staff, we also pioneered our first Discipleship Training School outreach to Fiji! It was a huge success and we are so proud to be able to bring our DTS outreach to the Pacific Islands since this has been a dream of ours since we started 7 years ago.
We are so blessed to be able to run our Prairie to Pacific DTS with Youth With a Mission (YWAM). We have seen lives transformed in incredible ways and God never fails to exceed the expectations we have.
Personally my favourite part of DTS is seeing the students grow deeper in learning about God’s Father Heart for them. As we grow up with human parents who make mistakes, it’s hard to always understand the vast, unfailing love of God. When we dive into what God really thinks of us and how big His heart is for us, it’s a transformational experience. There is also a lot of internal healing that takes place during this week.
As we gear up for next years DTS with outreach to Fiji, I am excited to see where God will take us! We have a great DTS staff lined up with 3 team leaders that are eager to get started.
We are still accepting applications and have students in the works already. We would love to see DTS students apply from the United States since their dollar makes our school a great affordable option. We would also love to have our first DTS students from the UK join us! The pound makes our school an even more attractive option. If you know of any DTS students who would love to be a part of a school located on a fabulous property with a lot of open space that is surrounded by nature, send them our way. We are always looking for Discipleship Training School students from Canada, US, UK, New Zealand and Australia and of course from all over the world!!
If you would like to be updated with our ministry newsletter and prayer requests, please contact us with “newsletter” as the subject.
We are looking forward to another blessed year as we follow where God is leading us.
